I am the senior member of the Birdhaus clan and would like to tell you a little about myself and some of my current art work. I have been involved in the arts most of my life but have a passion for working in clay which I have exhibited for over 40 years! Much of my inspiration comes from my love for animals and nature.
I studied under Helen Bennett for three years at Lochaven Center of the Arts, and have attended Penland School of Crafts and many workshops offered by masters such as Paulas Behrenson , Paul Soldner and Karen Karnes to name a few.
All of my work is original one of a kind as I do not use molds with the exception of when casting in bronze. My clay pieces are mostly hand built except for a few of the smaller wheel thrown ones.
I have exhibited throughout the state of Florida in art shows such as Walt Disney show of the Masters, Maitland, Winter Park Fall Festival, Los Olas in Ft. Lauderdale and many others. I also have displayed my work in galleries.
